9/18/2017 Connected, but Alone

I recently watched a Ted Talk that really impacted me and could impact others. Sherry Turkle's speech/video titled Connected, but Alone, took place in March 2012. And even though this took place five years ago, it still is happening now. The main point made by Ms. Turkle was that the more technology advances, the more it is separating us from our true selves and our connection to others. She explains that there is a way to stop this and the way we can show future generations to not let technology control how they live their life.
I learned that I need to separate my technology life from my real life. In doing so I will achieve greater things. I agree with what Turkle said about how we are connected yet alone. Many times I have seen that something important is happening in front of us, but instead of actually see it, we are distracted and drawn to technology. Living in the Digital has some benefits but not a lot. Yes, technology has helped us advance in so many ways, but they have separated us from each other. Instead of family time, families have phone time and lose the connection with their family. And I know I don't like spending a lot of time on technology, but since it has become kind of the "norm" thing, I spend about two to three hours on technology. I feel like online, I'm more talkative because, in real life, I am shy and not able to "talk" as easy as I am online. I like conversations and text but text like I said before make it a little bit easier to talk even though, it's not real conversation. But outside of technology, I like to do other things. I like to read, go walking, swimming learning new languages, playing with family and many more things.

Now the question is what is your opinion?
