What is highlight reel? My perspective on Highlight Reel in social media, is that it is when you post the highlights of your life but never the negative times of your life on social media. Jessica Dentith wrote an article about how because people post highlight reels of their life, it makes others feel bad because they feel they should be as happy or successful as they are. Dentith argues that we shouldn't let other's highlight reels bring us down because it's not all entirely true about what others are posting. I agree with her that we shouldn't let others highlight reels bring us down, because we should enjoy how we live our lives, not how other "live" theirs. Highlight reels on social media are dangerous because they can make people obsess or worry about how they need to make their life look as good as the others. I don't really use social media, it wasn't until this year that I was allowed to make my first social media account. I don't spend a lot of time on social media and I don't try to compare myself to others because that is how they live their lives, and I'm just living mine. Everyone should make their own path and image because everyone is unique.
